A message from Craig Daters, Woodland Creation Officer, at Somerset Council
Dear Town and Parish Councils
I am re-sending this email as a reminder that this tree planting funding opportunity is still open.
Please consider any opportunities that may exist on land that you own/manage and please share within your communication networks.
I am writing to ask for your help and support in promoting a tree planting funding opportunity that we are currently pursuing.
We want to reach out to landowners and managers within a defined geographical area in the hope that they would be interested in planting or establishing trees on their land.
Land owners can be
- Town and Parish Councils
- Estates
- Businesses
- Private landowners
- Farmers (including tenants)
- Schools
- Sports clubs
- Community groups
Our project hopes to increase tree cover and connectivity between the Blackdown and Quantock Hills National Landscapes, via the urban centre of Taunton.
Planting schemes can be very small and include a wide variety of planting styles such small copses, trees within hedgerows or alongside footpaths, or allowing small areas to naturally colonise.
Please can you use your communication channels to share this email and the attached document to help us reach as many landowners and managers as possible.
You also may of course manage land or facilities that may be suitable for planting, in which case we’d be really keen to hear from you directly.
Many thanks in advance for your support.
Please do let me know if you need any further information or clarification.
Kind regards
Craig
